Starting the Proposal for Pre-Production

I've been in close communication with my group, so even though I was absent on the day of our pre-production proposal, I'm still completely informed of our film project. Here's an update on our pre-production progress:

Although our director informed us she wanted everything finished by February 10th, the deadline for our proposal to get a green light is February 19th. I believe it would be beneficial due that it allows us to work with Mr. Aaronson on modifications in case something unexpected occurs during the preparation phase.

My group members told me that we want to continue using a single main filming location. It would be more simple and easy and we can always go back and review the need for additional locations at a later time. They want a space that reflects the characteristics of our shy adolescent heroine—organized mess, plenty of personal belongings, but not really messy.   For inspiration, they even gave me a photo of a disorganized adolescent room.

(An example I found but we aim to make it less messy)

Finding and securing the location is the top priority, and since they already have their friend's room in mind, I'm keeping in touch with them frequently to make sure I can contribute in any way. We intend to shoot throughout the weekend of the 15th and 16th, with the following weekend serving as a backup for any further shots/scenes.

Let's go on to the actual story.   Even though it was a basic idea, our group had previously discussed and agreed upon the basic concept we were aiming for. In case our main idea didn't work out, we still had five backup alternatives.

Idea 1: Encouraged by her friend Z, shy girl X creates a love letter. A dream sequence indicates that X's actual feelings are for Z, even if Z believes it's for U. Heartbreak and joy follow.

Idea 2: Z, who has a thing for U, receives a painting of U from heartbroken artist X. A complicated love triangle develops when U believes the painting is by X.

The other three concepts are at the moment in the preparation phases, but they focus on writing, music, and photography and all deal with themes of problematic friendships, unrequited love, and shyness. Z's actions and X's work unintentionally create emotional drama. They have also wrote me these basic concepts.

I'm awaiting feedback from my group on their favorite concept, but I think we'll choose the first one as it appears to be the most interesting, before we really commit to pre-production we'll have to discuss it more in detail. I'm happy with where we are, despite my absence, and I'm looking forward to seeing what plot we decide on.
